EXPERIENCE IN WORSHIP LEADERSHIP
as an organist, choral director and worship planner
From 1979 to 1989 Bonnie served as Organist at First (now Riverside) United Methodist Church in Moline, Illinois. She was on hiatus as an organist in the years she taught on the music faculty at Upper Iowa University. Since moving to the Chicago area in 2003, she works as a substitute organist for churches in the south suburbs, and serves currently as principal organist at St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Downers Grove. One of her rare concert appearances occurred in 2004 when she performed her work Prelude on "Nettleton" at Coe College at the Iowa Composers Forum.

Bonnie's organ repertoire includes French works such as Piece Heroique by Cesar Franck and the two Suites of Louis-Nicolas Clerambault; German works of Dietrich Buxtehude and J. S. Bach, Spanish works by Jose Lidon and Bernardo Pasquini, and numerous early English works by composers such as Jeremiah Clarke, Wiliam Boyce, Thomas Thorley, Samuel Wesley, Henry Heron, and Matthew Camidge. In addition she performs twentieth century works of her own and of Jehan Alain, Anton Heiller, John Leavitt, and Paul Manz, among others.

Bonnie's extensive experience as choral director includes serving as Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Moline where she directed the Chancel Choir (adults), Wesley Choir (youth), and Worship's Servants (contemporary) as well as leading elementary and preschool choir programs.

Later she directed the choral program at Upper Iowa University, directing the Concert Choir, Accents (vocal jazz), and Musici Sine Nomine (classical a cappella). Accents and Musici Sine Nomine toured widely, performing in Hawaii, The Bahamas, Houston, Savannah, New Orleans, and Bulgaria.

Bonnie continues to accept occasional conducting engagements on a freelance basis.
In addition, Bonnie served on the convocation planning team of The Fellowship of United Methodist in Music and Worship Arts in the 1990s. She was instrumental in planning worship for the Fellowship Convocation in Indianapolis in 1996, working both with morning prayer services and major services for the event.
